About Us

Designated Driver Inc. (DDI) of Bakersfield was started in 2007 by James Grasty, he brought DDI to Bakersfield because he saw the need for people to get them and their cars home after they have had too much to drink. DDI was first started in Ft. Perice Florida back in the late 90's, the original owners saw the need for DDI to be in every city where people drink and drive, so they decided to license the concept to help it easily spread across the United States. By doing so they helped to bring it to the wonderful city of Bakersfield, CA.

DDI is Bakersfield's premiere designated driver for hire service, there might be other services out there that can get you and your car home, but none are as speedy, inexpensive and professional as us. This is due in part to the support we receive from our members and sponsors. By becoming a member you not only save money on rides, but you help to support DDI, keep our roads safe and you, your family and friends out of trouble. Sponsors also help us by paying to advertise on our; indoor ads, web site, vehicles and shirts, just to name a few. The money we receive helps us run our business, keeps our drivers on the road 7 nights a week, and helps towards our goal of eventually offering FREE RIDES.

Last year DDI bought the rights to open DDI locations all throughout Southern California, we don't have the time or money to go to every city and town to open DDI's ourselves, that's why we need people that want to bring our wonderful service to their home town so they can start saving lives and keeping people out of trouble, if you are interested please click on the Open Your Own DDI link.
